We had a FAIL today at School is Easy.  Or so I first thought…

We missed out on the New Franchisor Award with the VFA. For a moment I was lost to bitter disappointment and, after giving my head a shake, I took a minute to think about the journey we are all on- not just myself as a relatively new Franchise Recruitment Professional, or Chris our Master Franchisor, or any of our amazing Franchisees but most importantly the children who use our tutoring services.

Imagine if those kids just gave up after their first attempt went wrong. It doesn’t even bear thinking about. I needed to remind myself what our business is all about and the bottom line is: we create confident kids.  That served a reminder that it’s not appropriate for me, representing a business whose sole existence is to encourage kids to TRY, to feel bad about not winning an award.

Instead look at what we’ve achieved here. Shortlisted with 7 other amazing brands that also began their franchising journey during a global pandemic- props to all involved for that! I’ll never forget the absolute glee I felt when I found out we were finalists. That businesses like ours are able to thrive in times like this is a real testament to the power of franchising and what it represents for people who dream of business ownership and being the master of their own destinies.

To quote Michael Jordan:

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”

There will be other awards and some of them we’re going to win!

We have some big ambitions for 2022 and adding to our rapidly growing network of franchisees is at the top of the agenda!  Here’s a flavour of the type of person we’re looking for:

• The drive and flair to grow your own business, using your entrepreneurial skills to be innovative and creative
• Business development acumen
• Excellent people skills with a sales & community focus
• Ability to reach out to your community and build an effective local marketing strategy
